100th AHEPA Anniversary Gus Kraras Chapter #61

The AHEPA Gus C. Kraras Chapter #61 in Reading, Pennsylvania proudly marked its 100th anniversary with a distinguished banquet celebrating a century of service, brotherhood, and educational support. The milestone event, held on Sunday, April 27, brought together local members and high-ranking dignitaries from the Supreme Lodge and Power District #4.

Notable attendees included Supreme Vice President Chris Kaitson, Supreme Treasurer Themistocles “Themos” Frangos, Supreme Secretary Zenon Christodoulou, and District Governor Christ Megoulas. Their presence underscored the chapter’s longstanding contributions to the Order of AHEPA and the broader Hellenic-American community.

The evening’s program featured the presentation of AHEPA Hero medals by Supreme Vice President Kaitson to Chapter President Dr. George Giovanis, as well as to chapter namesakes Chris and Gus Kraras for their enduring legacy and leadership.

In keeping with AHEPA’s mission to promote education, four scholarships were awarded to outstanding students who met the chapter’s academic and community service criteria. These awards reflect the chapter’s continued commitment to fostering the next generation of Greek-American leaders.

Further demonstrating the chapter’s dedication to philanthropy, Dr. Giovanis presented a $500 donation on behalf of Chapter 61 to District Governor Christ Megoulas. The funds will benefit the Ronald McDonald House of Hershey, the current charitable project of Power District #4.

Congratulations to AHEPA Chapter 61 for reaching this remarkable 100-year milestone. Axios, Brothers!
